NICTM CONDUCTS ITS SIXTH MATRICULATION CEREMONY

The National Institute of Construction Technology and Management, Uromi, under the distinguished leadership of Engr. Prof. S. O. Onohaebi, FNSE, FNIPE, MyrP, conducts its 6th matriculation exercise on the 7th day of December 2021.

It was the first matriculation exercise of the Institute to be held at the permanent site and the first to have in attendance the Chairman and members of the Governing Council.

It was equally the first official ceremony to be attended and performed by the newly appointed Principal Officers of the Institute namely,
Mrs Akinbowale Dayo, Registrar, Mr Sunday Esogban, Bursar and Mr Isaac Anyira, Librarian.
Also, the appointment of Engr. France Akpojedje who had recently defended his PhD dissertation as the Ag. Deputy Rector was announced during the exercise.

Indeed, it was an extraordinary and unique event in the life and time of the Institute.

The Rector assured the matriculated students and staff of the Institute of safety at the permanent site.

He urged the students to study hard so as to unravel the mysteries of hidden books. The Institute will continue to have them as its priority at all times by ensuring the provision of a conducive learning environment for them. He tasked them to remain good ambassadors of and for the Institute. There was sober feelings amongst students, staff and invited guests when he informed the assembly that, ‘this is probably my last matriculation exercise before my exit as the Rector of the Institute.’ This showed how much he is loved because of the exemplary and unique style of his leadership as the Rector and Chief Executive. The massive infrastructural development at the permanent site which in no small measure enhanced staff and students’ comfort and publicity of the Institute, the opportunity for staff to go for training within and outside the country which is a primary factor of staff welfare and development. They only could wish he stays longer if possible to continue this distinct national assignment.

He implored the staff to be dedicated and committed to their respective duties to ensure that the Institute moves to a greater height.
He reminded staff that the Institute is their farm and they must tend to it with sincerity of purpose in order to have good yields.

Congratulations to NICTM on the occasion of her sixth matriculation ceremony.
